Driving back down the motorway through the fog of the night. Alone in the darkness in a mind set strolling along floating beams of car lights and dashed lines of directing traffic. Radio was switched off in favour of the rustling air conditioner. Enjoy the silence in a remix.
The party was great because I fell in love again. Expectations were to exorcise anxiety, depression and fear before the dull November time. And out of the darkness came the best kisses of my life. Intimate hugs and the rest of it and the fight to stop it for good. And I realized how old I had to become to know I haven’t had that in all of my thirty-something of years. Never say never to something new on the way. The fog clouds weaved through the car beams like reborn souls of peace. My confusion about this weekend surprise found comfort in this urban space of freedom. My left hand gripped the steering wheel like the body of my distant lover. My right hand was busy texting one sms message to capture the right moment. My eyes pinballed like a moonflower laser across the scenery. Life. Youth. Love.
Halloween changed me more than ever before. Thanksgiving traditions of Europe have evolved into that post-summer dress up bonanza with a lil bit of fake ketchup horror teasers and Gothic romance in drunken discos. Everybody I knew felt the same boredom like when it was carnival. Ok, apathy but peer group pressure made them still go. Attitude matters too.

the saturday was wasted with a futile bus trip down south to greenwich for awol @ indigo where the doors closed at 2am and entry impossible but climbing the chill out area’s 13 feet fence and back lol. so the sunday had to go off as the last day of this year’s hackney wicked festival close to the olympic stadium for 2012.
the parking space next to the mother studios saw a funky mixed up drum & bass farewell. the drinks flowed while the food was rare when a rather frozen vibe in the warehouse of vittoria wharf rolled into monday morning and august. did i mc on techno?

mofire festival celebrated its 10th jubilee with a great drum & bass friday featuring adam f, camo & krooked, erbndub alongside navigator mc and the ragga twins. also reggae played a big part on sandy outdoors with spicy kenyan food and jamaican accessoires, got a fisherhat and an eagle stone chain.
after a 7 quid 100k hitchhike i touched down at the former outdoor swimming pool (“freibad”) in the suburb of herrenhausen with 17th century royal parks. just in time for the england v algeria match though the warmup smoking was much more thrilling than the game. the world cup hasnt kicked me off my chairs yet tbh. some 20:30 games have action the rest is like waiting for the bbq to simmer and sort all drinks out.
although i wanted to taste all the sound flavours it dragged to the ballroom where drum & bass started shyly after 10pm with local crews mixing on half volume level. then mcs benski and mex-e entered the stage and lifted the vibe for real. especially mex-e was in top form like a mexican world cup supporter, top class lyrics, top voice. i like to see and hear them both at raves in bremen, braunschweig or here. longside stunnah this is the german mc trio to me – or the north german triangle, cling!
soon camo & krooked took the stage and showed some alpes double again. at jungle mania in bremen they sounded too neuro to me but this time they rinsed better and that tonight track came out crisp and clear to cheer you up like john b’s up all night back in the days.
